about

The Bogtrotters Marathon is a full, half and relay marathon on a course that is generally flat or undulating but with a few sneaky hills and consists of tarmacked roads, one bog road and some grassy tracks. It is well-drained so there is little danger of getting wet feet! Open to runners and walkers of all abilities. Discover the hidden Ireland – not a Celtic Tiger housing estate in sight! The full, half and relay marathons all start together at 10 a.m. in Strokestown Park. [Please note this is different to 2010.]

Most participants are expected to finish within 8 hours and roads will officially stay closed to vehicular traffic until 6 p.m. after which marathon participants will share the road with vehicles. Strokestown Park will remain open until 8 p.m.
